Less than a month to 9 Aug 2011, are you ready to celebrate singapore 46th birthday?? Will you be flying our flag outside your house..
My mom fly the flag every year without fail to show support to the champaign 'fly our flag' since 20+ years ago. Naturally the practice had flow to me. Last year, 1st national day in punggol, I have no idea where cant i get the flag, we tried book store, supermarket, it's either they dont carry or was sold out.. so no choice. But this year, hus saw a notice put up by Punggol RC at the notice board beside the lift, he gave them a call immediately and they delivered to our place within 15min by the RC volunteers. Finally we got our flag to fly outside the house.
Where Can You Get Your Flag
But before you can fly the flag, you need to get a flag first right? So where can you get one?
The answer is somewhere surprisingly near to you … at all PA Community Clubs and RC’s.
Each flag cost you about SGD$2 to SGD$2.50 depending at which area you are located. (I saw the notice board at Yishun which they are selling at $2 and i got mine at $2.50.)
Do get it early while stock last.
Proper care and disposal
When you are done flying the flag, you need to know the correct way of handling it in terms of storage and disposal (if it’s too worn out already).

When the flag has to be cleaned, it should be washed and dried indoors separately, and not together with other laundry.
Torn or worn-out flags should be disposed properly by being packed into a sealed black trash bag. Alternatively, the flag should be handed over to the nearest Residents’ Committee (RC) or Community Centre/Club (CC) for proper disposal.
Let's show the spirit and fly our flag to celebrate National Day..
Happy Birthday Singapore!!!
