2012 CNY Seventh Day

The seventh day, traditionally known as Rénrì (人日, the common man's birthday), the day when everyone grows one year older. It is also the day when tossed raw fish salad - yusheng, is eaten for continued wealth and prosperity. Together with my mom, sis & bf, bro & wife we tossed for wealth, prosperity and good health.

On this day, mama requested us (all children) to get her a small pc of gold due to leap year. I have no idea what's the rational behind this, since she requested, we just do it for her. She says they used to do it for her mom.. so maybe is for longevity since my granny lives till 90+. :) Pop brought home a pot of $788 Buddha Jump Over the Wall, gathered together trying to finish that pot of BJOtW, but about 10 of us can only finish 1/3 of the pot.. with J a huge eater and A, we still have a balance of 1/2 pot for my dad and bro as supper... Guess, mama family are going to continue with that pot BJOtW the next few days...

Of cos, it's CNY, where can we missed our game... we started"ban luck", while we are into our game, we never forget about the kids... I brought over my Wii for the kids... at least with some exercise rather than in front of computer playing maple and facebook. This year no luck for me... i have contributed $50 to my family members..

CNY 2012

We received our big fat angbao on CNY eve from pop. Since ah gong past away, pop took over the practice to give out 压岁钱 on the eve.







Our reunion dinner was home cooked simple dinner with a pot of Buddha jump over the wall.

On day 1, our usual practice, we are at my mom in law early in the morning, and started our day with mac breakfast.

In the afternoon, we were at my parent place.. Without any communication btw mei and sisters in law, we appeared in white qi pao for the 1st day of CNY.. First time, is this call telepathy?? Lol












Ended our day at BIL place with our first yu sheng for 2012. This pack is from PinSi which come together with Buddha jump over the wall. yummy yummy.

Day 2, hus pulled me out of the sofa and brought us to Paris ris. And janelle took her first pony ride.
































And during these few days, we completed the HK drama..

Janelle and the lion dance

This year is the first year janelle watched a lion dance. Initially I was afraid that the loud noise or the lion will scared her off just like sj. I carried her tight and far away. But I'm wrong.. Janelle love it... She started to giggler when she heard the drum sound up. We need to keep pulling her back as she likes to move to the very front to watch the performance.




My bro was telling her, sayang the lion.. But She pulled the lion ear when she saw the ears keep moving.

The last "aiyo" you heard was my sis voice, my guess is that she was hit by the oranges. Lol.

5th Wedding Anniversary

This year is our 5th year wedding anniversary and it falls on the 1st of Chinese new year.. Time flies.. 5 yrs ago, hand in hand we walked down the elsie.





Hus: "what u like to have for our wedding anniversary gift.."
Me: "something simple.. A bouquet of roses"
Hus: "where to find roses on Chinese new year??"

On the eve, he dropped us at my mom place while he went out to get the car washed and polish. he came back with a BUNCH of roses.. Yes, bunch not bouquet.. So not sincere. He says no one is available to wrap it nicely.






Anyway, he paid for my chanel bag, this is something extra, so am not going to argue with him :)

With CNY eve reunion dinner and Chu 1 dinner was to with family, he make up a simple "candle light" dinner on Chu 2 with janelle and our new helper.

Another milestone

With helper around, their idea is to get the child has their meals as fast as they can without much mess. So ended they are feeding the children and they loss the chances to learn feeding themselves in the early stage.

Days without helper, I'm teaching janelle to be more independent. :) so indeed of me feeding her breakfast, I want her to feed herself. We started with her taking fork to feed herself (good job) but she would throw it to the floor... :( day1, mummy morning exercise was picking up fork for her. Slowing telling her that she need to put the fork on the plate/table after each mouth and it's comes with encouragement and rewards with "yeah!!!" in a super high tone every time she did it. Day 2, yes, she managed to do it, she would put fork on the table :)

Next step, mommy is training her how to pick up the food herself. According to PT, That's not a easy job for them as it's required fine motor skill and need her to focus and concentrate. Really hope in the near future I have another clip to share.

But this is a good start of 2012, am looking forward for more.
