CNY 2012

We received our big fat angbao on CNY eve from pop. Since ah gong past away, pop took over the practice to give out 压岁钱 on the eve.







Our reunion dinner was home cooked simple dinner with a pot of Buddha jump over the wall.

On day 1, our usual practice, we are at my mom in law early in the morning, and started our day with mac breakfast.

In the afternoon, we were at my parent place.. Without any communication btw mei and sisters in law, we appeared in white qi pao for the 1st day of CNY.. First time, is this call telepathy?? Lol












Ended our day at BIL place with our first yu sheng for 2012. This pack is from PinSi which come together with Buddha jump over the wall. yummy yummy.

Day 2, hus pulled me out of the sofa and brought us to Paris ris. And janelle took her first pony ride.
































And during these few days, we completed the HK drama..

Boxing day outing

Brought janelle to ikea after her nap. Met my sis and mom there to check out the high stools too.

Having our tea break at Ikea cafe. See, the happy her waiting for snack. She had one pancake, one meatball, one potato, a few mouth of pasta, few mouth of chicken wing and few slips of ice lemon tea. Yes, my girl seems to eat a lot but still skinny. :(



But not our day, The POS was down, the queue was super long and slow. We gave up and decided to come back some other days as some other stocks will comes in this weekend.

The weather was very good, so we popped over to the waterway for a walk. Janelle dash to the water play immediately after she spotted it. Mommy was too slow to stop her..

A morning at USS

Had a couple of tickets left over from the previous visit to USS, we made a trip down on sunday morning.. With hus around, don't want to spent more to buy express ticket, dont want to wait in a longer Q, don't want to play excited play, we completed one round in 2 hrs time. Yes, What a waste!!!

An evening at RWS

Brought janelle and hus to sentosa rws for a walk and dinner with SIL... Janelle was so happy when she saw the mini stroller in candylioius, she went wild. Grab one and run all around leaving daddy and auntie chasing and protecting the selves and customers.

Pasir Ris Park - the Gallop Stables

Suggested to bring Janelle to beach on sunday morning.. since we had been ECP a couple of times, so this time we try Pasir Ris beach..

To my surprise, most unexpected quiet corner of Rasir Ris Park, there is a Stable - the Gallop Stables in Pasir Ris Park. There is no entrance fee, anyone is free to walk in to see, touch, ride and feed the horses and ponies. Pony rides are available at $10/ride, enjoy a stroll in the "woods" (For 2 years and above). Hus wanted Janelle to try on the Pony rides, but they dont allow to co-seat... Which means Janelle had to be alone riding on the pony.. hmmm... that's very dangerous as janelle doesnt sit still for 30sec, what if she fall. Hence, we give it a missed. But we will be back for Janelle to ride on the pony when she is ready.

Besides open stables where children can feed and ride on ponies, Gallop Stable also offers private riding lessons for those keen in horse-riding. The Horseshop nearby sells interesting horse-related paraphernalia and an adjacent cafe serves breakfast, brunch and finger food and sandwiches all day. The place is also open for booking for private events such as birthday parties.

Instead, We bought dried grass from the store @ $1 per packet to feed the house.

If you wonder, yes, they are looking at each other!! When the horse came near, Janelle ran and hide before my back. :)

Lorong Halus Wetland

A Lazy Saturday 9am, hus woke me up and brought us to "a nearby and it's very special" - he claimed... *Yawn*

It's the newly opened new garden in Punggol New Town - Lorong Halus Wetland. A landfilled from trash transformed into an Eco-friendly wetland which provide an educational site and a sanctuary for plants, birds and other wildlife. Under the ABC (Active, Beautiful, Clean) waters programme, PUB recently completed works to create ‘Halus Wetlands’, to help purify run-offs from the landfill. This is opened to the public in early this March.

A pedestrian bridge has also been constructed across Serangoon Reservoir to allow for easy access by the public and residents from the Punggol New Town located on the western bank of the reservoir.

Using an innovative bio-remediation system, PUB designed the Lorong Halus Wetland to collect and treat water passing through the former landfill, preventing it from flowing into Serangoon Reservoir. A rustic trail has been laid out among the reed beds and the ponds, allowing the public to get up close to the wetland system.
