Updates on BRT Treatment

We are on BRT Treatment for 3 months since mid April this year. We have moved from weekly BRT Treatment (where there are too many foreign substances such as amalgam, bacteria, viruses, allergens, mycosis etc to clear) to fortnightly BRT Treatment (which leave with a couple of few stubborns one), and from this week onwards we will be on 3 weeks once.

The treatment does strengthen her immune system, she doesnt has flu that often now. But as for epilepsy, personally i feel that it doesn't help much. Looking back these 3 months seizures pattern, it still seems to be about the same.. there even at one point of time where janelle was scared by the therapy on the eye mask, she was crying non-stop once she put on the mask and since then her seizure was bad for that month.

The therapist says it's still early to tell, as the past 3 months she is focusing on clearing the foreign substances and not so much of program. From next visit on, she will put janelle on for more brain activities and epilepsy program. Let's give another 3 more months and see.

Pediasure

After 2 months of goat milk, Janelle starts to reject the milk.. each time she only takes in 10 to 20ml the most... some times, once the bottle is put into her mouth, she immediately push it away. Mummy has no choice but to move back to cow milk. Getting BRT help to increase her intolerence limit towards the cow milk, and slowly moved back to cow milk.

Recalled that my neighbour is giving her girl Pediasure as per doctor recomendation to plump her girl up for a ear surgury. After a year, she is in a good weight now. And also one of Janelle classmate was introduced to Pediasure by doctor, because of his eating habit (many things cannot eat) and he is in a good weight too.

Hence did some read up on the formula:
- "The unique formula of PediaSure provides complete and balanced nutrition. Pediasure helps fill the nutrition gaps that can arise out of a child’s fussy eating behavior."
- "PediaSure is clinically tested by scientists, researchers and doctors to help increase height and weight** and strengthen natural immunity in children.*** These findings have been verified and published in scientific journals that are read by pediatricians around the world."

Nutritionally, a Pediasure can has 237 calories (labeled energy on the can, 7.1 g protein, 11.8 g fat, 26g carbohydrate l-carnitine 4mg, taurine 17mg, packed with many essential vitamins and minerals, and water 200g. Not surprisingly, the top of the main ingredients is water, followed by suger (sucrose), maltodextrin (corn), sodium caseinate, high-oleic safflower oil, soy oil, fractionated coconut oil (medium-chained triglycerides), and whey protein concentrate.

Pediasure is lactose free, which they say makes it easily digested. However, it is not for children with galactosemia - G6PD (lacks the enzyme to convert galactose into glucose; galactose in the bloodstream is like poison).

It's seems should be ok. Thought Janelle is not a fussy eater, but because there are things that she cant eat due to her intolerence, hence I decided to give her Pediasure to fill the nutrition gaps and also to increase weight for this skinny girl.

We are now on 100% Pediasure, but her intake wasnt alot too.. a day she properly takes in about 500 ml but is better than goat milk intake.

MMR vaccines

A month ago (9May), finally brought Janelle to complete her last vaccines - MMR which suppose to give her when 18months.. we had delayed for a year. The MMR vaccine is an immunization shot against measles, mumps and rubella (also called German measles). It was put on hold as we afraid that the virus in the vaccines can worsen her seizures. There are some vaccines on the records that cause seizures ie: prevnar.. As i wanted to enroll her for next year's preschool, so MMR is a compulsory vaccines for any government school in Singapore. After deep thoughts and asking around, we decided to give it to her.. once and for all to rest my mind of worries, and hopefully with the BRT treatment, it can help her to remove any strains from the vaccines.

Before i gave her MMR, from BRT it shows that in janelle body, there are some strains of measles and mumps virus which the therapy guess it could be from 5-in-1 or others vaccines, and after the MMR given the virus are gone, but there is an increase of Mercury strains in her body. The very next day she developed rash on her buttock areas where the vaccines given. I afraid was allergy hence rushed down to the clinic, but doctor says it's not. Doctor concluded that's nappy rash. How is it possible? All along she was ok, the diapers used and frequency changing on diapers remains unchanged. Thanks god, the rash went off after a week and at the very least she was still very active and no fever after the that.

Goat Goat Milk Milk

After hearing GD advice reduce cow milk intake for brain damaged child due as could be allergy to the cow homos, and BRT found that Janelle is having intolerance to cow milk. We decided to replace janelle's cow milk powder with fresh goat milk. We specially make a trip down to the Hays Dairies farm (Singapore Only Goat farm at Lim Chu Kang) to enquiry about the milk on Good Friday. http://www.haydairies.com.sg/ We bought 5 bottles of fresh goat milk to try out with Janelle to see if she can tolerance the smell. so far so good. So after this last tin of Gain IQ, we will move to 100% goat milk. The price is kind of steep. One bottle cost $2 (purchase from the farm) / $2.50 (for delivery) for 200ml. Says if Janelle takes 3 bottles a day, that's $6 to 7.50 a day, and $30-$35 a week and $120 - $140 or more a month. Was thinking of fresh Goat milk vs Powdered Goat Milk, i decided to go for Fresh Goat milk as it does not contains processed nutrients, sugar, preservation etc. It will be more troublesome, as we need to warm up the milk just like breast milk, but i believe this will be a better choice. To keep her body away from the processed ingredient while we are clearing and detoxing whatever is in her body. Goat's milk can be used as a replacement for cow's milk-based who have difficulties with dairy products. Unfortunately, goat's milk is lacking in several nutrients that are necessary for growing infants, hence now her every meal, will need to make sure the solid food that she is taking has the all the necessary nutrients.

Recommended to try out BRT for Janelle by a friend's colleague. *** Thanks Piglet ***. She told me that her colleague's girl is having seizures just like janelle and they chosen not to give the child drugs since she is still very small. And they have chosen BRT treatment instead.

We went for the assessment last week and here's the result

• Janelle has a couple of intolerance foods such as Wheat, Cow Milk, Chicken Eggs, artificial colouring and favoring. As she is not allergy to these food but just intolerance hence she does not has Rash or hives when she had these food. A food allergy is an immune system response. It occurs when the body mistakes an ingredient in food -- usually a protein -- as harmful and creates a defense system (antibodies) to fight it. Food intolerance is a digestive system response rather than an immune system response. It occurs when something in a food irritates a person's digestive system or when a person is unable to properly digest or breakdown, the food.


• In her body, we can find heavy metals like Mercury could be from deep sea fishes and even from injection.


• Weak lung and liver are very weak which can be caused by the long term medication.


• Found bacteria in her body which is harmful to her lung, and we will need to reduce sugar intake in her to prevent the bacteria to grow.


• Weak back and pelvis muscle, which this is a known issues from OT and we are working on it.


• Allergies to home dust, which is true as if she sit on the dusty area, she will develop rash.

We had went for the 1st treatment last week, according to the therapist, we will need about 6 sessions before we can see any results. The treatment is to strengthen her immunity and tolerance on those that she is weak at and also there is a treatment program to control seizures. We did checked with the therapist and understand that we are the 2nd epilepsy case in this branch, so they don't have statistics to show us how successfully it will be in controlling the seizures. She says she will gather some numbers for us from germeny.

1 week after the treatment, Janelle had a bad week, naughty visited her almost every day as she has down with flu again and she got the virus from mommy.. Mommy will always got some flu virus whenever i stepped into office. One of my colleague desk has this killy virus which she had been on sick leave for 2 months. Remind me to bring dettol into office to clear up her desk. However, we noticed that Janelle sweat more than before. Sweat more = fitter?? but i believed that's a good thing, because it means that she is getting rid of excess heat more efficiently, body function works better and properly. Hus and I concluded that let's continue to monitor for a month and we will see if there is any improvement.

The treatment isnt cheap. it's about $120 per treatment. Once a week. But as long as it works for her, we will find our ways to support her.
