Just before 2013 comes to an end, Janelle was down with HFMD... sob sob sob.. It's started with more serious, very cranky, refused to eat and drink. She even refused to swallowed her own saliva, i guess ulcers in her mouth were troubling her. Brought her to see doctor and confirmed is HFMD.
Doctor advice:
- might not want to give hot food as it will irritate her ulcer further. room temperature or slightly cool is recommended to ease her ulcer pain. worst come to come, give her ice cream as it contains milk and the coolness can help to ease the pain of her ulcer.
- lots of water or milk if possible, ensure she pass urine well
- food, one or two days without food intake is alright
Came home feeling sianz that have to stay home during out break.. :( very troubled seeing her not eating well... tried many ways.. ended we resolved by giving her favorites cool strawberries and blueberries. she love sweet Korean strawberries as always, and we added blueberries thinking to boost her vitamin c, water and food intake. She finished about 10 to 12 strawberries one go as her lunch. Took a big bottle of milk and went for a good nap. Praise the Lord, when she wakes up, she is active again... and she is having dinner well too.
I find that vitamin c helps ulcer recovery for janelle. Whenever Janelle has ulcer, i will usually boost her with vitamin c and you bet, the ulcer will usually recover within a day. This time round, with prayers and her ulcer gone in half a day. PTL. red rashes started to go off the next day too, but cos HFMD is contiguous, we are confined home for 10 days.
