Seems i have Janelle, i fall in love with reading mother's blog, where i can find their exprience sharing and to expect what is the next milestone for Janelle.
But seems Janelle is sick, when i read their blog i feel very stressful and very worry. Especially now i see a 10 months baby (same age with Janelle) can now sit without support very well, can crawl, can stand... I feel the pressure.. and i will start asking myself where did i didnt do it right, where did i goes wrong.. or what happened to my girl etc etc... and ended up with sleepless night, worring for her.
Kogan ask me to stop doing this.. and i quit reading those mommies blog for a while as i forcusing more to my work and read up more about eplispsy, about food for babies... Not so stressfully now.. but boring.
Hi Vone, I've started following your blog recently and I guess I should have said Hi earlier and that I feel you're such a strong mummy to have gone through so much with Janelle. Don't give up because I believe a lot of people are cheering you both on. I wish Janelle will be able to be totally seisure free soon!
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I understand how you feel in your post. Me too sometimes feel the pressure from comparing our babies' progress. It's one of the evils of being human in such a competitive world isn't it? Although we always set out with the best of intentions, just sharing the joys our babies are to us, we also subconsciously set our expectations based on what other babies are achieving. Well, we should just remember they are just babies. They grow at their pace, there is little more we can do than to provide the support and opportunities. We shouldn't get disheartened, instead we should channel these energy into encouraging them on to be confident in what ever they do at their own pace.
Let's jia you together!
Sometimes I wish I can don't go online too, but it's boring, I agree :) So I'm just conditioning my mind to just read and be happy for whoever :) Because no one is competing here, so why should I give myself pressure right? I don't want to bring up my son to be a kiasu person :) I think it'll be better for me too.
Hi..
ReplyDeleteactually i have been reading your blog sliently for one mth plus already. You are really a GREAT mother. **Three cheers for you** Must jia you ok, i believe Janelle's situation will improve as time goes. And ya i have a 15mths old girl. She only start to sit properly ard 9-10mths, and crawl at 1yr old. So dont worried too much about Janelle's milestone ok?
hi
ReplyDeleteevery kid is unique and different.. some days I feel my baby is faster in certain things.. but some days I feel she's behind in some.. dont worry too much. I used to get very upset with her drinking qty being so much lesser than many babies her age. But after much stress I decided to just let her be. she will drink when she wants to. she still wakes up for feeds..she's not the most sociable baby around.. but just be it. we still love our babies no matter how they are.
thanks all for your cheering.
ReplyDeleteAm fine, i have "look opened" on this area.. i understand different babies have different development pharse.
Just do what i can for her. :)
