Travel lodge - Hong Kong - June 2015

*** Throw back to June 2015.

Had been to HK for a couple of time, but each time with different accompanies will have a different experience. This trip i'm with one hong kong expert as she was born there and had stayed there for a year recently. So it wouldn't be wrong by just following her.

First time after many years, 3 of us managed to made it for our first trip

We only travel with SQ, our trusted flight of all :) The usual us, taking the first flight out... Thanks to A's Kor Kor who always have to fetch us to airport when we need to be there before the sun rise.

Our first stop is to Disneyland. Yes, without checking in, we went straight to Disneyland with our luggage. There is a new town FROZEN till a limited period, but the Queue was too long that we cant make it.. But we managed to visit the rest.

Tips: purchase your Disneyland ticket in the airport. There's some discount, cheaper than purchase at the door.

We paid for luggage valet hk$90 per pc. It's abit exp, but worth it as we can have a whole day in Disneyland without need to pull our luaggage everywhere. When holiday, time is money too. 

So excited to see so many magical around us. Everything so cute.. Even their waffles also Mickey Mouse..  It brings out the little girl stayed inside us... 

Even the drinks also magical, haha me and j bought one each for us. During dinner time, there is a low income mother and son was having dinner, but the meals are too exp for them, so they ordered only kids meals. When we are out of the restaurant, A suddenly told me she had a calling to get the little boy a magical drink. I told her, GO AHEAD. The restaurant waitresses and manager was quite surprise and grateful to A who did that. The smile on him is priceless when he received it.

This Disney trip I conquer all the rides. :) We even stayed over for the parade and fireworks. When the fireworks started, i was in the store shopping, i ran out with all the items on my hand without paying... hahaha.. of cos at the end of the show, i returned back to make payment.

Then took a taxi to Mongkok where we were staying over for the next 3 nights.

 A wanted to be around this area, and Langham was quite expensive for 3 bedder. So we decided to give Air B&B a try. We were staying just above store, in this building. Very convenient, next to MTR, there is food once we came downstairs. 

Never forget to end our first day with supper.. The smelly bean-curd. J teaches me, you need to put ketchup first, marked a " X " in the center, then put some chili sauce. 

Next day, someone says she want to have McDonald breakfast... Their sausage is pork and served with red bean soy milk.

The purpose of this trip is to attend my uni friends' wedding. Very interesting, it's the first time I attended an oversea wedding... I reached at about 6.30pm and they are there on stage in kua taking photos with friends and family.

The bride and groom went off for a change and have a formal match in..

And invited guests up to stage to take photo again... Ok.. I know I looked damn fat in this dress. This dress looked so wrong on me.. It's too short too.

Yes... Tell me about it.. 13 courses for dinner.. And in between ( before the Garoupa) they served Chinese tea to all to take a break while the host give their speech. They stopped all the dishes and serve a cup of chinese tea infront of me like a dish.. Caught me by surprise as Singapore dont have this practice.

Then bride and groom went off to change and send off the guests... Take photo again... Same as Singapore, ended at about 11pm

While I'm having my dinner.. J and A message me that they witnessed this scene but not sure what is happening. Guess it some paodong with the chinese.

3rd day... I can't believe I did this. Went and Q for hello kitty cafe even before they are open. The hello kitty timsum cafe.

Everything is very cute but not nice at all and expensive. Can give it a missed.

Went and have Po Lou Bao to fill my tummy instead... 

Never forget our favorite mango desert at xu liu Xiang.

The rest of trip is about shopping. So nothing much if photos to share.. 

No, i'm not pregnant if you wonder

fall in love with this wallet on chain... about $2K SGD. So temped but ended didnt get it as hus says NO.

And time to return to sg... It's so great the 3 of us can gather together, everynight we did mask, stick on cooling pats to ease our leg aching and we can talk to 2-3am without fail. We laughed, gossiped, scolded.. although is a tiring trip, never waste any of our time... 

She is just a normal kid

Janelle is giving teachers big headache this year in school that teachers wanted to meet and talk to me. Janelle had a very strong character just like her daddy, i also coming to end of my wise, don't know how to teach.

Janelle started school 1st week of Jan into her "P2", she was able to go sheshe in the toilet with teacher guidance, more focus, more responsive. 2nd week she is down with flu, 3rd week flu is on and off and was send back home from school till fully recovery. 4th week, all her nonsense starts, she wet herself again and again.. refused to pee in the toilet and pee on her chair.. very resilience :( we tried pat talk with her, scold her, publish her... all doesn't works.

When Yesterday went for school, Janelle is ok again... she goes toilet and pee. Never wet herself and was in very good mood. Teachers asking me to think of janelle 10 years down the road... if i dont teach her she will be like this 10 years later. ARGH. I also dont know what i can do.. Ms L told me that Janelle is a normal child just slow in learning. Teach her as if a normal child. This had put me thru a sleepless night yesterday night trying to think what i can do more. 

Does Singaporean has a heart for special needs child? No

Janelle had this habit of stretching out her hand to grab and pinched people when she is not happy or when she is overwhelm in a huge crowd. 

Recently when I brought Janelle to Jurong bird park, She again stretched her hand and pinched a little boy in the lory loft as there were too many people. She was nervous I guess. When I saw it, quickly stopped her and apologied to the boy and his mom... Guess what I got in return. The mom keep staring at Janelle. I apologied and explained that Janelle is a special need child and she didn't do it on purpose.. But she never stop her staring for a good five minute even after her boy says "it's ok".

I wanted to let Janelle get used to crowd but in another hand I feel bad when Janelle get the staring. We choose bird park as it is lesser people than zoo.

Also recently we met up with mp of educational and he shared with us that they are trying to do more for special needs such as after school care and more special needs center but the challenge PAP received is the rejection of the residents. Haiz. 

Singaporean has the heart to give "money" but not the heart to give to the needs. 

Dental visit part 2

Dental checks continue... We booked an appointment at KKH as referred by SPB. After a month of wait, finally mange to get the assessment and schedule for GA and removal in late February. Yes, another 4 months wait. 

Dentist suggested to remove 3tooth, filling for 2 and put on a metal cap for 2 moral tooth. And also to change the milk for Janelle. She shared from what she had seen so far, pediasure causes bad tooth decay god it's too sweet. And since Janelle need milk to sleep then she recommend either similac or nan which she see less bad decay for these children. Nan has denta pro and less sugar..

But Janelle pediasure to pump her up cos she is too skinny.. But her to protect tooth.. Aiyo, ended up I decided to mix milk powder. 3spoons of pediasure and 2spoons of nan. I know many ppl shared that shouldn't mixed milk powder as we don't want to overdose on one nutrients on the babies. But I think Janelle is old enough and I think pediasure should have the max of everything, so reduce it and add on nan hope to get at least 50% of both. And it does show improvement on Janelle tooth as notice that it doesn't smell badly anymore.

2015 Christmas Tree

Due to space constraint this year as we build in a TV console that maximum all white space, so i put my Christmas tree on the wall..

This is a combined of 2 2.7m long Xmas wired Christmas decor.. It's allow us twist and bend to any shape we want. Thanks to my helper, we managed to put this up within an hour or so.. (Pls don't ask me where my hus.. ><) 

Initially I started 3M stick on hock.. But after first 2.7m went up, which I need about 6, I find it too costly. $6 for two, 6x3 already costed me $18. So I went to local hardware store got got those cheaper version 2 for $1.20 and in order to protect my wall, I replaced the stick with 3M. And that's half of the price. Not very pretty as the 3M isn't the right size, but it's ok, cos it will be all covered up. 

Cleaning up project - working area

This is an area where I work and entertain janelle everyday. So within this area, on the left hand side is what I pile up but on the right hand side is my maid and janelle will put things there. After a year, really quite a mess.

One fine day this week, I decided to clean up this area. Can't believe that my table can be so clean. Haha. Started cleaning on Monday, rush down to daiso to get some contains for post-it and stationary..  and today is end of Wednesday and I still feel not 100% done. The wires under the table will still need another day for me to think how to organized it.

During cleaning I found many things that I can't explained why it's on my desk.. 

First Dental visit

In Sept, Janelle was reviewed by school dental and received a referral letter to Singapore promotion  board dental for GA and filling.

Called in to make appointment and had to wait till next year Jan, luckily there was a slot that a patient just call in to give up the appointment in nov. Immediately i took it despite that it's janelle nap time.

The appointment is 2.50pm but nurse requested us to go in before 1.50pm to take antibiotic before GA is given. Guess what, we reached at 1.30pm and do all the registration and wait... wait... 1.50pm i checked with the register that janelle need antibiotic before seeing dental.... 2pm i reminded them.. and 2.15pm.. I lost my patience and asked them the 3rd time. I told them that if they are not going to give janelle antibiotic why do we need to come one hour early. Just to wait for 2.50pm? if is 2.50pm my janelle don't have to skip her nap. ARGH. and by 2.35pm finally we managed to see one dentist.

I'm proud that janelle was able to sit down and let the dentist had a quick check. It's a quick one before janelle says "finished" - her favorite words recently when she don't want to continue. Dentist shared that there are a few decaying tooth here and there on on the baby tooth which not much of a big concern as it will drop off. However there is one tooth decay and is impacting the permanent's molar tooth and she will need GA in order for her not to struggle and hurt her during the cleaning and filling. And dentist referred us to KKH for GA.

Don't ask me why? i'm wondering why need to refer us to SPB when the school dental nurse already stated need GA and SPB can't do it. Wasting our time. To make things more complex, SPB need janelle's neurology to do the referral, insist of direct referral to KKH dental in order for us to be under subsidized rate. So now it's a waiting game again, went back to CMC@2 nurse and sent in the referral letter for Dr Chan reviewed and for him to do the referral for us. 

Sad to say, guess Janelle was overtired and had fits that afternoon during her nap at 4pm.
