B & A Wedding

At 5pm, knocked off from work early, wanted to visit the salon for wash & blow my hair, salon was closed for 1 day. They open 7 days a week but had choosen to close shop on the day i need them most. No choice, headed back home and wash my own hair. Spent a good one hour to think what i to wear, goodness me, didnt realised that i have put on so much weight that i cant fit in a couple of dress.. sob sob. I WANT NEED TO SLIM DOWN. This is my most hated when going to a wedding, need to look good but yet cannot shows the fats.

At 6pm, when i just started on my make up.. hus went to pick up the car and waited for me in the car, stressing me to hurry up... Yes, 6pm... getting ready for a wedding dinner. Cannot believe it and by 6.10pm, he is calling non-stop asking if i'm ready. Don't know if he is mad, or i'm mad... but indeed is i mad rush for me.. Guess, he is the only husband that doesnt want his wife to good for a dinner... I still need to make up, prepare Janelle and pack my bag before i can leave my house. By the time i get into the car is 630pm, and my face was black. I remained silent all the way, till we dropped Janelle at my mom's place. Then he says he want to go mac for a quick bite before the wedding... of cos, he cant escpae a scolding from me. Before wedding dinner eat mac.. siao... but no choice as his wish, instead of mac, we went to amk hub's PinSi to have a bowl of noodle and soup which was strongly recommended by my brother.









The double boiled soup and the soup was good... very good. Met CC and Bob there for a quick bite too before heading down to a wedding dinner together.

B & A, wedding is just a day, and marriage is a lifetime..

I wish you have a happy marriage and again, congratulation.

It was a great gathering too... together with long lost friends... PJ even flew back from AU to attend this wedding. they are the gang whom i used to hang out during uni time and also Groom's long time buddies who i used to hang out with before marriage. It's seems that we had returned to those days... Talk rubbish, laugh, Drink, Drank... not yet to Drunk as hus and i have to left early to fetch Janelle home and rest.

After so many years, they were still talking about our wedding day... the lost ring event, the 10 courses supreme dinner which started with birdnest followed by all the good stuff.

Appreciation

Last Sunday, dropped Janelle at my mom place and we went off maid agency to select new helper as my helper contract is due in dec. After decided on the maid, we went over to north point to buy a piece of gold ear-ring for my mom's maid whose contract due in oct as a appreciations from me.. after all, she had took care of me for 5 yrs, and janelle for 3 yrs. oh yes, she had been with us for 8 yrs..

We decided to have our lunch before returning home... and craving for mee po, so requested to eat at foodmall. While waiting for hus to get food for me, a clearing auntie approached our table for cleaning.. When auntie heard me saying "Auntie, 谢谢你", immediately she smiled and replied "谢谢". I was wondering, wah, just a simple thank you, it seems had brighten up auntie's day. When i continue to obvious her moving one table to another... none of them had says "Thank You", most of them saw auntie approaching, they will move themselves backwards cos they scared auntie will dirty their clothes. Singaporean, where is your appreciation??? Do you know that only Singapore has the culture of having a cleaner to clean your plate in foodmall.. we need to learn to appreciate their contribution.

Dont be stingy with you "Thank You", "Please".. they dont cost you any money yet it can help to brighten their days. Of cos, not only to stranger, looked around.. as a mother of 1 now, i started to appreciated my mom and pop even more, dont know how many sleepless nights they have on me.. to take care of me when i'm sick.. worried about me when i have failed my exams. Appreciating friends of mine, who knows that i'm in trouble and need help and she was the first one who rush over my mom place to make sure things are good... they accompanied me for dinner and helped me sorted out my thoughts.. and of cos, when days without car, she volunteered to help me fetch Janelle to school.. they did so much for me, yet i have did so little for them. When they were very sick, only a sms from me and not fetching them to see doctor :( she told me "Yvonne' it's ok.. it better than nothing... understandable and appreciated" *Touched*, And of cos appreciating you, my readers, your every clicks into my site had helped me generated a little into Janelle's fund from nuffnang :)

The deepest principles in human nature is the craving to be appreciated.

Waterway to go

My Waterway@Punggol, the Singapore longest man-made waterway which was constructed by damming two rivers at the east and west of punggol to form two reservoirs to meet Singapore increasing water needs. Thus is part of the $225 million feature in punggol.

This will be our new park for running and also a new play area (water play area and sandpit) for janelle...

This evening when we drove pass the area, there were some lights attracted our attention and we decided to check it out. It was the rehearsal for tomorrow 23 Oct grand opening. Exciting activities and performance from 2 to 10pm with fireworks at 730pm. There will be a "hand in hand wave" on 5pm at the Punggol waterway circular deck. Urticaria aka “Feng Mo”

Janelle started developing big red blotches of rashes around her neck areas in the middle of last night. The unbearable itchiness woke her up from her sleep. Initially i thought could be the clothes that she was wearing that make her so itchy, hence i changed her pj and applied some powder but it's does stop her from scratching. Recalled that when the skin are too dry, it will make the itchiness worse. Hence, i took a wet towel to clear off powder and applied moisturiser. It seems to work as she managed to fall back to her dreamland. But that's doesnt least long, she woke up again at 3am with the unbearable itchiness again... Angry daddy applied tiger balm on Janelle, it does stop the itchiness and she managed to return to her dreamland after awhile.

Doctor confirmed that Janelle is suffering from a type of skin rashes known as “URTICARIA”. This is similar to what Chinese termed as “Feng Mo”. Hus make her wear long pants to prevent direct contact with the wind which believed to aggravate the condition. Doctor prescribed ADEZIO (For running nose/allergy) for Janelle and also calamine lotion to be applied on the body to ease the itchiness. I was told that the rashes are likely to subside in two to three days or more, and in some cases could subside and re-develop again.

Some common causes of urticaria are
i) allergy to food, drugs, environment- Exposure to pollen, house-dust, buffalo dander, fungi, change in temperature, etc. are known exciting factors. Extreme cold, heat, pressure may also induce urticaria.
ii) Infections and infestations
iii) use of unsuitable synthetic products - like changing diet, soap, detergent, and makeup
iv) stress
v) systemic and general disease.
etc... 80% of the cases are due to unknown cause.

And our Nurse J, suggested to avoid the below
i) bathing with warm/hot water as it will make the itchness worse. (Room temp is good enough)
ii) no nuts and strawberries for the time being
iii) no tiger balm please..

While Janelle suffers the day and night with high level of itch, what I can do is to give her the care and support by being with her and not forgetting deadlines at work too.

Update 19Oct:
After one dose of ADEZIO, her rash and itchiness started to subsided. There are some area, where she tried to scatch, i will applied thick layer of calamine lotion and prevent her from scatching. By bedtime, no more rashes or itchiness, but to be safe, i gave her another does of ADEZIO to make sure the rashes doesnt come back in the night. THANKS GOD, the night was good :)

That's the age....

Last friday, my mom went Genting Highlight with pop for some association gathering leaving 3Js to my bro and sil. But before she left, she requested me to sent BJ and MJ to tution center after school. Helper saw that sil was on leave that friday, hence she asked her to fetch them instead. But she returned with "Huh, noone tell me that i need to fetch them... i'm not free, dont want to fetch.. ask them take bus themselves."

BJ came to me and said she needs to stay back for extra classes and not able to go tution. I have been thru that stage, immediately i smelled something not right and with MJ there, "gu gu, i think jiejie bluf you". So i requested BJ bring me to see her teacher to get the confirmation. When BJ starts to tell me things, i more i want to see her teacher.

BJ: "ok... but gugu you want to come into the school will be very mafan, you need to go thru the front gate to get the pass"..
ME:"nevermind, then we just go thru the front gate."
BJ:"i lazy to walk"
ME: "nevermind, gugu drive over, dont need to walk"
BJ:"But teacher only comes in at 130pm"
ME:"nevermind, then we will wait for the teacher"
In the car, the story started to change again,
ME:"So, where will the teacher be?"
BJ:"In the library"
ME:" What? giving extra classes in the library?"
BJ:"no, actually is teacher in charge of the library asked me to stay over to learn how to use the new machine"

When meet up the teacher... as expected.. no such thing.. and BJ was trying her best to explain to me while i remains silent, I didnt scold her, i didnt lecture her.. I brought them for lunch and sent them to tution.

This is the age where they want to see the world, hang around with friends after school. But as a gugu, what can i do.. or what should i do... I went thru her stage, afterschool is either tution or go home.. is very boring.. weekend, parents always not avaliable to bring us out. So i started to hang outside after school refused to go home since i'm primary 4. But this is not i would like my niece or nephew to go thought. I keep telling myself, i need to respect her... the very least no screaming and shouting at her especially infront of her teacher and friends. But i need to meet the teachers as i want to let her know, dont lie to me... i can check with your teacher if i know something is up in your selves.

I think as a gugu, this is the most i can do. Over the weekend, i had tried to talk to her more.. ask her more about her friends.. interesting things she see etc.. what she is interested.. Need to build a closer bond and think of more activates to filled their life up.. Will bring them out more often over the weekend.

Dear reader, what else can i do.. or what else should i do??? any recomendation?

Kao Laundry Products

Following up my previous post of Winner for 1 year supply of kao laundry. I nearly thought it was a spam by KAO as there was no follow up emails and calls from them at all for the past 2 months. I had dropped them a couple of emails but with no reply. I gave them benefit of doubts that they are WIP for the month of aug and sept. By oct, i had gave up the hope and bought my laundry products off the selves. And when was clearing my email last week, the more i think the more i get angry with.. kanna cheaped by such a big company. Hence, I dropped them 3rd email to ask "IS THIS A SPAM EMAIL", and finally i got some reply. So it is not a spam. They had mistook another Yvonne who is staying in punggol as ME, and had sent her the 1 year supply. When they saw my email, the person in charge quicky called me and explained it to me. She promised me that she will get someone to sent the products to me within 2 days.. I reckon that as a good service recovery. :)
