PT

Janelle's KKH PT went for delivery yesterday. Hence was passed over to her colleague who is also pregnant now and due in end of this month.

PT told me that from her observation, Janelle is able to walk.. All her strength is good and she can do kneeing, standing... She just need abit more challenges to build up her confident. she can do it. at times, when janelle facing difficulties, it need a little while and she can solved it herself. she just need more practicing.

was glad to hear that but worried on how? build up confident?? challenges her?? Guess I have too protective.. but how to let go?

Daddy always like to hard hard things in front of the therapist, which therapist says that’s good enough. But at home daddy always busy doing his stuff, he does not have time for Janelle at all..
When ask him to take care of Janelle, he will put Janelle on his tummy and both watching TV together.. I know he had a hard day after work.. haiz..

who else can help me?

i'm going to give janelle intensive therapist lessons these 3 months... hopefully by 2011, she can walk and express herself... then i can put her to mainstream school and let her have more exposure with other kids.

Seizure breakthrough

Early this month, JX tuina yishi was away for holiday for 2 weeks and we didn't went for tuina, surprisingly JX had no fits at all for those 2 weeks. Usually her seizure is once to twice a week. So we though it could be the tuina might have excited her too much which causes her to have fits. Hence we decided to dropped tuina for the time being and monitor. 3rd week without tuina and she is doing well.

But this morning at 3am, she woke up with fear, crawled towards me crying.. i thought she had bad dreams again. yes, it is again, at times she will wake up at this timing crying. comforted her for a while and quickly put her back to her bed.. once i put her down, she went into seizure... at that very moment, my heart sink. "Why this happened again??"

Come to think of it.. actually she had very good improvement. from 5 days once to 24 days once. am wondering should i returned back for tuina?? i also not sure if tuina really helps her anot.. 2 months ago, when times yishi told me she finally managed to get her 痛点.. and that week, JX will have a sight improvement. on the other hand, i also adjusting the medication when fits gets too frequent.

ai yo.. dont know what should i do.. i'm at confused.com.sg..

Baby kieran

Went to mr quek baby full month celebration. It make me remind me of janelle baby time. Seeing his wife, so relax, full of energy, chatting n entertaining with the guests. She told me she can sleep through out the night because she got a confinement lady to take care of the baby. So fortunate huh..

During my janelle full mth celebration, me n her are in the room.. Guest come in and take a look.. I didn't even have anytime to entertain my guest. Very different when with and without a mother in law.

Colored playdough

In janelle's school, they have playdough classes n they played with those home made playdough in case any of the child eats it. I asked the teacher for recipe n tried to make some for janelle.

Today is my first attempt n it is a successful one. Easy n good, so thinking to share it with my blog reader the recipe.

Colored playdough
1cup water
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup salt
1 tablespoon cream of tartar (optional)
Food coloring
1 cup flour

1. Combine water, veg oil, cream of tartar and food coloring in a saucepan n heat until warm.
2. Remove from heat and add flour
3. Stir, then knead until smooth

** cream of tartar makes this dough long lasting - up to six months or longer. So resist the temptation to leave it out if u don't have it
** this dough should be stored in an airtight container or ziploc bag
** do not refrigerate

A note: 1 cup = 250 ml. the color of the dough will be lighter as compare the solution... So, if u want a darker color, u might need to add more coloring. I choose green for janelle cos I tot green would be a better color for eyes sight.

A week not at home..

Away for business trip for a week, and many things happened.

While i'm enjoying my work, my lunch, my dinner and mala steamboat in dalian.. In Singapore i have one bro who is getting married and in the peak of his wedding preparation.. one bro just broke off with his gf after so many years.. kissing good bye to their down payment of HDB flats.. and my sis and her bf blur blur went thru their first even event (Flee market)..

One week can happen alot of things.. so must precious the time.

Now janelle is in the stage of holding one hand and she walks.. and yesterday when she see me infront, opening hand widely, prompting her to run forward.. she did it... she took about 4steps without support. and what's the next steps?? what can i do??
