First time to US

Starting of the 2011, just returned work from my brother wedding and i was assigned to go to US for a meeting. Everything are good except for the dry meeting, time different and the flight - 22hrs to US and 27hrs back to SG with flight delayed; and transited in HK/Chicago before i reach Boston, The first day on flight was my worst day in the trip from missing of visa exemption application (did my last minute application in the airport just before check in), delayed baggage when i reached US, cant find the limo person who waited for me at the departure hall instead of the arrival hall.. but things do gets better when it goes...

I made my name there in the meeting.. noone dont know who is Yvonne who sleep during the meeting. Goodness me.. everyday i'm like take power naps, about 3 to 4 hrs each night.. so tired that i fall asleep during the break time and noone wakes me up when they starts the meeting. Was in a meeting from all around the world, there are colleagues from US, Portland, mexico, Spain, China, UK. It was great to meet up with them and to link their names to faces during calls.


On Wednesday, this is the first time i encountered snow storm. it started to snow from 4am till 5pm and it build up 20" tall of snow outside. it wasnt that cold during the snowing day. The temperture starts to drop till -15degree the next day.

Days we go shopping after work, they call me shopping queen #2, i cant win the Mexican lady who was there to shop. She bought almost everything, from children clothing to bedsheet... she can spend like 7 hrs in a mall shopping where i'm done in 4 hrs time, where i spent my rest of hours enjoying the coffee, snacks in the shopping mall. Almost everynight, i will join them at the pub for a relaxing evening. It had been a while since i last seen in such relaxing mood and with nothing other than laughter - dont need to rush home for janelle, worrying if janelle she can sleep without me anot, etc etc. First time i was introduced and play the football-linto (Mexican called that) and pool. Me not bad hor, seldom into such games and i'm the winner of the night.




Each morning and night, i will use the CCTV to check on Janelle to ensure she is on a good hand with daddy and auntie. Janelle had been a good girl and seems to understand that mommy need to be away for work. She didn't cried for me, except when she heard my voice. other than that everything was ok. Hus returned to work almost everyday and leave Janelle with my mom. Thanks for my mom helping me fetching Janelle up and down from school, arranging for transportation (bro's/taxi)... ensuring she eats well and every morning, she will go market and get fresh fish just for Janelle. She always uses her un-selfishness to ease our mind and ensure our child are good in her hand when we are away for work.

Back to work

Had been off-line from work for more then 2 weeks. Life gets very lazy and can't get the momentum of last year.

But can't continue to laze as need to go over to US for a meeting tmr. Ooo.. Think of the 20over hours of flight and all the transit just put me off this trip.

First day of work on 7jan is to farewell my boss. A colleague opened her place for the farewell. Families are invited, but I'm there alone. As hus need to work late, and don't know why just don't feel like bringing janelle there to face my colleagues. Next time bah.

Anyway, time to bucket up and get back the momentum on work. Now time is different. 新官上任三把火。

Brother wedding

Finally my brother wedding is over. 1night for praying + 1 day for customary + 2 night of dinner (first night is for relatives and friends, and second night is for dad's biz associate). With lots of last min changes. Although it is very tiring and things happened, but i still enjoyed myself very much.

It was great, the food is good. I have my hus's niece telling me that "jiumu, next time your relative wedding must invite us, not only not brothers one... never had such a good food before on a wedding" - bird nest, lobster, shark fin, sucking pig, codfish, abalone, desert.. everyone enjoys it. The most disappointed was the last min assignment from mom that cause me missed the solemnization.

One thing brighten up my evening was that many people mistaken me as my sis.. haha... which means that i only looked like early 20s...

Happy occasion ???

All happy occasion will always turned up as a disaster on me due to my hus and janelle since 4 years ago... And more since 2 years ago

Just this year, 2011:

Because of a new year countdown, janelle refused to sleep till 2am.. Hus throw his temper and says no more countdown for her..

Because of my brother wedding, who to take care of janelle.. I have planned month ago and informed hus, and also requested mil to take leave off her work to take care of janelle in the morning. But only the day before the big day, hus turn over everything... Questioning me the plans. Had a quarreled with him over this... Last min then says, how u want me to explain to mil, my parents.

Even the tea ceremony, he says he dont understand just a min things and why he need to be around for hours. He even want me to call him only when the ceremony started, then he came over from home. And get EVERYONE to wait for him..of cos this also get us into argument

The actual day itself also had a big flight. Last min assignment from my mom which cause us not able to make it for my bro Solemnization... And janelle had a fit after a month of fit free... And janelle woke up in the mid of night crying... All these had triggered his anger again.

If time can go back to 4 years ago, I will not choose marriage. Why find a find a person to spoilt all happy occasion that's going to happen? Since I chosen this road myself, hus also is chosen by myself and for janelle, I will be strong to continue this journey.

My little Janelle

Loving her more and more each day....

Yesterday night, she is into kissing, so she went around kissing everyone.. And she saw papa was having ice cream, she wants it, so she climbed up to daddy. Daddy says, kiss me first before I give you a slip... And she did it, for the ice cream



Isn't she lovely??

This afternoon, she fall while walking past me... Quick pick her up, and tell her it's ok.. And she look at me sadly and says "huuu huuu", everyone laughed. After I says "huu huuu", she walked away proudly.

Good Bye 2010 and Hi 2011

It's another year... 2010 ended with a nightmare.. and 2011 started with a nightmare...

At work:
2010 i have tried my best on my work.. had accepted what was assigned.. but by end of nov, after i saw the rating, i told myself no matter how hard i do for the company, noone will see it. Increment and Bonus will never up to my exception. Target for 2011: I'm ok to continue to work to enjoy the flexibility which i can have more time for Janelle. Worst in 2011 there is a re-structuring.. things are not clear till todate which gives me a very unstable feeling. Wanted to switch a job, but cant find one that allows me to work from home.

Personal:
Started off my first blogshop business... it had been about 3 months, had spent thousands and it's still in red. This is a very competitive world. Target for 2011: to make the red into profit. And let this be my main job. Marketing Marketing and Marketing

Janelle:
2010, she started going to rainbow 3 times a day, we do see her improving and now she can walk without support. Would like to see more improvement in her. Target for 2011: focus on her drooling and fine motor. Had make appointment with a doctor who studies on drooling... Will try to spent more time with her on play

Without maid day2

Day1 without maid was ok. With hus help, managed to finished all the house work and rest with janelle.

Day2 without maid wasn't ok. Hus down with fever. He is too weak. By the I settled janelle is already 10am and I haven't have breakfast. Rush over to my mom place for Xmas gift exchange and my turn to eat and rest. Lucky with my mon help, managed to took an hr nap after my flu medicine. After woke up, hus says he is feeling very bad, so I rushed back to fetch him for doctor...

I thought with got hus help will be ok.., but who knows he become another burden to me...
