Another wedding over the weekend

Was invited to my ex-colleague Weimin's wedding lunch last sunday. We used to be lunch kaki and had non-stop topics to chat, been to bkk together and doing crazy things.

Nowsaday wedding lunch is getting more common. But kind of late to have lunch and early to have dinner. 不三不四。the lunch starts at 1pm, and ends at 4pm. By 7pm, I still too full for dinner. Hmm, ended that's my only meal of the day cos morning was kind of rush for church.

Had a great time meeting the ex colleagues again. All are doing very well, makes me wonder why am I still in this company.

My outfit of the day which PT stunned when he saw me. Then he served me throughout the lunch, so that I don't have to stand up to get food, he helped me push and pull my chair so that I can adjust my dress when standing and sitting down.




And hus requested me to put on legging for church service.




It's time to shop again, my dress is either too short or too long for church. Long as in maxi dress.




this is what I get when going out with janelle with maxi dress. Pulling my dress non stop. So put away the dress since I'm attending church service with janelle.

My Saturday

Usually when hus in town, I can't have my lazy Saturday. Hus will wakes me up and force me to go exercise with Janelle. He will use words like "is good for Janelle.", "janelle need for a long walk\run".
Here's goes my Saturday:

Dont Play Play with blogger

Saw an acticle on XiaXue in the papers today on her flighting back against her facebook haters and went to her site to read - http://www.xiaxue.blogspot.com/ - she posted up photos of some of the men who critized her on Temasek Review facebook wall where the administer posted a year old xiaxue and other bloggers photo asking for captions, together with the comments they gave on her and the girls.

Served them right for flaming her... but pity their wife and children who's photos got splashed on her site as well. Imaging the number of visitors had visited her site - the clock is moving non-stop.

Her final shot: "Maybe you will think twice before call somebody a whore next time, huh?"

After a long and busy day, other than spending time with family, the next best activity is to have BFFs gets together. Nothing but laughters to fill the silent night.




Auntie says simple dinner.. To me this is not simple at all.. The effort and love, auntie had pampered us, showed on all her dishes.




See, How happy A is, all important members in her life are all here.. Ops.. There should has one more person to come..

What's else can we ask for more? :) wishing our friendship will be everlasting.

HFMD @ Discovery Childcare

After nearly 2 weeks of sick leave, as per school requested, brought Janelle for doctor review to get a clearance letter and she she ready to return to schools. She started rainbow on Monday and Childcare on Tuesday. On Tuesday morning, I was informed that 2 new cases of HFMD in Playground and K1 reported. It was spreads very quickly and by the end of the day I was informed that 8 new cases had reported. And the school recommend to have a volunteer shutdown to prevent the virus spread further. So another week my Janelle is grounded at home with her Hi5. Hopefully by next week, the virus can come and a control and she can return to childcare.

2012 Cold Storage Kids Run

Registered Janelle to 2012 Cold Storage Kids Run, but we didn't go for the run since janelle is on MC from HFMD. To be at the safe side, we had gave it a miss. Will be back next year.

Sally Wedding

Our dear ms silly sally is now married. She is no longer that silly sally we know many years back. After secondary school, she removed her spec, put on make up, having long hair, she had turned into a blessed beautiful lady.

Attended her church wedding at St Anne Church with hus, memories flashed thru my mind.. Our gathering session around the pond every morning, the basketball match and the NPCC time. Those good old days.




Attended her banquet too at Hyatt without my hus cos he need to stay home take care of janelle.




However, i have a cutie pie accompanied at the dinner:

And of cos the good catch up with long time no see friends over the dinner.

Celebrate Mother's Day with HFMD

Planned to celebrate Mother's day with my mom and my siblings and 3js on Saturday at East Coast Park over simple picnic.

But who knows janelle is down with HFMD. She developed rashes on her hand and foot after Friday Childcare session. Doctor spotted ulcer in her mouth and had confirmed this is HFMD. According to Doctor generally, hand, foot and mouth disease is a mild and short-lasting illness. Treatment is usually not needed as the body's immune system clears the virus and symptoms go away after about 7 to 10 days. No medicine given, just need to monitor her closely and try our best to ease her discomfort. On Friday, she was in great discomfort, lost appetite and refused to eat and drink. She is given 10 days sick leave. Thanks god, she is much better the next day. And since this is contagious, so we are going to stay home for the next one week. MIL heard that Janelle was down with HFMD and knows that hus is not in town, she rushed over to my place and stay overnight.

Quickly informed the schools of Janelle so that can do through disinfect all classroom facilities and all toys. Discovery Garden @ Cactus are in very fast actions, they have disinfect classroom and  toys on sat shortly after I have informed the school and parents had been informed via email on Sat.





Very kind hus given me half day off on Sunday to run some errands, manicure and pedicure session and had a early dinner with my mom and family.

Bought this for my MIL, hope she will likes it. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!:)

Before I was a mom

Before I was a Mom -
I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed. I treatment my hair and mask my face everyday. I went holiday as and when I like.

Before I was a Mom -
I dont have to clean my house each day. I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry about what to eat. I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never been puked on - Pooped on - Spit on - Chewed on, or Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and My thoughts. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom -
I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests...or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom -
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life
so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known The warmth, The joy, The love, The heartache, The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

iPhone - not able to download apps."Waiting"

I'm having the problem of downloading apps and apps updates since i updated my ios. The apps are in "waiting" for days, checked Internet connection, no problem with that. Argh..

Finally today I found the solution.
Just need to log into option->store and re-entered the apple id. And the download back to normal.

If you are facing the same problem as me, hope this help.

Tingkat services

Had been on Tingkat services since January when i got my new maid. My new maid need me to provide her with prepare her with all the ingredient in the right portion, recipe and she will takes 2 hrs to cook... and 1 hr to clean up. So thinking to change another approach, where she full time on house work which I will more demanding as compared as previous maid and full time on janelle.

We tried Kim's Kitchen. Their meals were horrible. The dish are so salty, and feel thristy after eating. The soup is like water or clear stock then add a few piece meat. Not sure why quite a number of mommies recommended their service. Stopped their service after 1 week trial.

We are back to HilltopKB. So far so good. I ordered for 2 pax, and i will add on a fish dish and it's more than enough for 3+1.

After these few months of Tingkat, noticed that actually i have save quite abit from groceries shopping and gas consumation too. In the past, whenever we go supermarket the minimum spending is $100 every week and we will stock up lots of food and snacks. Now, only weekend and mid weekday i will go and shop for fresh fish and fruits.

Hakka Thunder Tea

I first fell in love with Thunder Tea Rice about 8 years back when I was introduced by hus to mil home cooked Thunder Tea. First try was ok so-so only, but after the 2nd and 3rd try, I fell in love. Had tried to introduced to my family, but none of them likes it. :)
Thunder tea rice is a traditional Hakka dish of rice topped with assorted vegetables and a broth of green tea leaves and herbs.
MIL will stir fried and grind the tea leaves and herbs in a handmade earthen vessel with scored markings on the inside with a guava tree branch as a pestle. It's required a lot of work to be done and the ingredient is hard to fine in Singapore.
Today, hus brought us to jurong to try 阿婆客家擂茶 that he always visit and claims taste better than my MIL's.
The Queue was long and I waited for about 45mins. My guess is because they have just been interviewed by ch8, so many food tester are around.




It's come with about 5 greens and one tea. You can eat it separately.




Or mixed it all up. Which I preferred this way of eating.




Personally I feel that my MIL's thunder tea is better. :) over-rated by my Hus.

Their tea feels more milky, and with too much mints which covered the herbs fragrant. The veg are a bit bland, too less of salt that can't bring up the sweetness in the veg. Anyway, this meant to be healthy food:)
