Vision from God

Last week in church, a brother walked over to me and told me he had a vision from God. He says "God is going to heal Janelle in due of time." ~ Amen.. We have never introduce ourselves to him before, never chat before. This was the first time I talked to him.

And that week, I saw rainbows.. The first things that comes to me was God's Promise.. God's promise to heal Janelle..

Yes, these are sign from God, isn't it? He is answering my prayers. Praise the Lord..

Ways to ease cough

Seeing janelle cough non-stop, my heart ouch... Did some research online while she is sleeping to see if there are ways to ease her cough.
Here's what i found:
  1. Your body needs vitamin C for its muscles, bones, cartilage and blood vessels; it also helps your body absorb iron. However, vitamin C does not necessarily improve cough symptoms. There are many potential causes of a cough, which include allergies, sinusitis or asthma, as well as a cold or the flu. Or a cough can be inherent of a more serious condition like emphysema, pneumonia, tuberculosis or even lung cancer. Vitamin C might improve a cough from some of these causes, but not from others.

    [Source] http://www.livestrong.com/article/493725-vitamin-c-to-stop-a-cough/#ixzz20ZO0HBbE

There are posts where parents uses vitamin c to ease their child cough and it's works well.
    [Source] http://www.doctoryourself.com/coughing.html

Recalled that Vitamin C is not able to store in the body, any excess C is spilled into the urine. But if too much of C might cause diarrhea too.
  2. Essential Oil - Eucalyptus oil has long been respected for its ability to lower temperatures and help the respiratory tract by loosening and removing mucus during attacks of bronchitis, coughs, flu, sinusitis and throat infections. Its antiviral and antibacterial action will deter further growth of the bacteria or virus.

Put a few drops of eucalyptus oil onto a hanky and lie it next to your pillow at night to help ease breathing.

Caution ~ Eucalyptus oil may trigger seizure, hence anyone who has epilepsy should avoid the essential oils. [source] http://www.epilepsy.com/epilepsy/alternative_oils
  3. There are old mothers tales that says put sugar into their porridge. My MIL always ask me to do that but i never did. Avoid sugar as bacteria will only multiply and feed on sugar.
  4. Milk and dairy encourage the production of more mucous, so it's good to avoid. But for Janelle, cos she rejects water, so in order for her to intake enough water in a day, i diluted the milk for her.
  5. Drink lots of water, at least 500ml of fluid as doctor recommended. Hot liquids can open up airways and moisturize a scratchy, dry throat in five minutes.
  6. Put a good layer of  Vicks vapor rub on the soles of their feet and put socks on them. This product had been around for more than 100 years later, some still swear by the product.

However, Vicks Vapor rub has it's Camphor Concerns. The reported side effects from swallowing health products containing camphor and/or eucalyptus oils vary from minor symptoms, such as burning sensation in the mouth, headache, nausea, and vomiting, to more severe and life threatening reactions such as seizures. Parents and caregivers who suspect that their child may have swallowed these substances should take the child immediately to the doctor or to the nearest health treatment centre. Eucalyptus oil can be found in Vicks vapor rub too
Anyone has better methods, please do share with me.. Many Thanks in advance.

Tried Vitamin C with Janelle, but it's her normal dosage and it seems to stop her cough for a short while.

Janelle is down with Pneumonia

Planned to go BKK today for my yearly July birthday trip with girl friends. But my Janelle was down with fever since sunday.

After on antibiotic from wed, Janelle fever still came back and this doesn't make me feel comfortable as it is unusual. I was in the dilemma if to bring Janelle to hospital, if you been to KKH A&E you will understand the push factor of going to hospital.. The waiting game is a killer.

Thursday night - 5th night of fever and 2nd night on antibiotic - 7pm, after 4 hrs on voren (high-fever medicine) her fever was back again at 38.5. That makes me very worried and it is like a voice in me telling me to go hospital, dont wait... Hus not in, noone i can discuss with. Quick took a shower and convincing myself while helper prepare Janelle.

Reasons i convinced myself yesterday night:
1. If anything worst, and i'm in bkk tmr, it will be worst, the holiday will be gone
2. If later in the night, hus says want to go hospital, then bad, every one sleep will be disturb
3. Just go, if nothing.. then i can rest at ease and enjoy my bkk trip.. and can return home for everyone to rest, still not too late. if need to be admit, then i have enough time to prepare all the cancellation paperwork.

And these reasons enough to convince myself to rushed down to hospital at 8pm.

When reached KKH A&E, the first thing came to both my helper and myself is "this really a season of fever". So many children were having the fever cooling patch on their heads, and it's very crowded. Nothing much doctor can do for Janelle as i have already max up the dosage of fever medicine for her, but she still having high fever. Upon admission, her temperature was at 39.7degree. We did X-ray and Blood test immediately, and waited for an hour before the result is out and doctor says it shows no good. She has infection in her chest and the blood results showed that she has bacterica in her and very low white blood cells which means no antibodies. Doctor classify this case as pneumonia.

Doctor changed all her medication and increase the dosage of antibiotics. Agreed to discharge us as Janelle can rest better at home then in hospital. But doctors warned us that these 2 days will be critical for Janelle, if fever comes back after 48hours after antibiotics, she need to be admitted.

Hus asked me go ahead with bkk trip since it just a 2.5days trip.. My heart is asking me to go not to worry, but my mind is reminding me that i'm a mom.. how can i put aside my daughter who is on fever and in her critical stage to go shopping.. so yes, mind over body, cancelled today flight to bkk..Managed to get a waiver of short notice change of flight notice from SQ and hotel... Not cancelling the trip but just moved to a later date. Thanks God that i have a very understanding friend. :)

Janelle is down with fever

My nephew saw my post on fb and asked me "Janelle has fever AGAIN".. Yes again.. Don't know what's wrong with her, her immunity too low or virus too strong?

Today is the 4th day.. Time to see doctor for antibiotic.

Praying hard she can recovered by tmr, else my bkk trip will be gone.

Seeing drama almost every night like pulling janelle up in the middle of night showering, waking me up to for water parade cos hus see no urine in her pampers, fighting with janelle for one whole hour to intake medicine. Seeing mommy in split personality one second scolding her to open her mouth to take medicine next second is sa yang her, sing songs to her, playing with her...

This is a challenge that God is giving me.

*will log the photos after i got it from nephew.

Thursday, i dropped everything at work to enjoy my day. Kick start my day at 5am with distrubed by Janelle and cant get back to bed.. looking at Janelle sleeping sweetly.. God Blessed. Had breakfast with hus and his cousin bro, sent Janelle to school and me coffee time.

When in the cafe, relised that i left my mobile phone in the car, heading back to car, i saw an ex-colleague L.. but thinking it's not possible as he needs to work... After i collected the phone, taking the escalator up, i heard a voice "Happy Birthday"... and yes, it's from L. What a surprise to me. :)

Treated myself with a facial and ear candles for detox. Hus took half day off to have lunch with me before we sent cousin bro off to airport.

Wanted to pop over to hair salon for a hair do but hus says sis's salon having man power shortage, instead we brought Janelle to ECP for a walk.

Ended my evening with B and CC, they taobao sushi and brought a cheese cake over my place...

Janelle's Childcare

Time to face the reality that Janelle needs a proper Special Needs Childcare instead of mainstream. My initial plan was to let her in mainstream childcare in the morning for exposure to normal kids and hopefully she can pick up the correct skills, and special needs program (EPIC) in the afternoon with rainbow.. But somehow this arrangement doesn't works out well as Janelle cant benefit the maximum from the mainstream.

Had been looking around for Special Needs Childcare for quite a while, even before i put Janelle into discovery garden. Either those school are very exp example a international school is charging 10K for a term or it's located very far away like chua chu kang... During the meet the parents session in discovery garden, when teachers asked me what's the plan for Janelle... i have no clue where i can put her to at all..

Started to search online whenever i'm avaliable to see what is the best options. After a few days of browsing here and still cant find an idea school, i prayed to God for guidance and gave him my terms 1. not too far away from our home, 2. not too expensive 3. best is a christian school.. and that very day, i shortlisted a school.. Called up the school to make an appointment for school viewing and understand their special needs programs.

Visited the school, i'm quite like their program structure and they have their in-house OT and ST which Janelle much needed. It's about $200 more than current mainstream childcare which still managable. But the distance, it's at mountbatten road, about 15min drive from punggol which still ok. Hus says he want to search for other choice, looking at punggol area. 2 weeks gone, he says he has no other better choice and has no time to search. That sunday, during a service, i have a feeling is God leads us to this school, i just need to obey and Janelle will grow strong there. I dropped the VP an email on monday to arrange for trial class and assesment. I told hus, "if the school willing to take Janelle, she will be in... unless you show me your better choice."
Janelle had her trial lesson yesterday, and thanks God, everything went out smoothly and the school accepted Janelle. VP says parents dont need to be around, if they have problem handling her, the school will call me. I was so worried and i dont dare that area and my mobile is on my hand after i had a missed call. During the meeting with the Principal and therapies, it had given me a confident that this is what Janelle needs as they listed down a list of Janelle weakness after half a day spending with janelle and what they can do to improve Janelle.

Managed to get a exception from discovery garden for early release this Friday and start St Gerard's School next Monday. :)
