What You Should Know About The HFMD

Reported on the news last friday that there has been a rising trend in the number of HFMD cases. Really appreciate if all parents to be vigilant and to monitor your children closely for any signs of illness. If he/she is sick, please do not sent them to childcare or school.

Found a website that had good information of HFMD: http://www.familydoctor.com.sg/hand_foot_mouth_disease.htm

Last year, just before rainbow school terms end, there was one student with HFMD and attended class for a day and it was spreaded to 8 classmates, 8 of them was slowly down with HFMD within a week. Janelle was sharing classroom with them, hence we were quarantine at home and was not allow to join the year end school outing. I heard that the virus was found in the school swimming pool, hence the pool was closed for disinfect for 6 months, till now janelle havent started her swimming session this year. It's better to be safe.

Now Janelle is down with high fever, and with the rising trend in HFMD, doctor says it's too early to tell if she is suffering from HFMD as the rash will only come out in the 3rd/4th days.. now she is suspected with viral inflection... coughing and super high fever. we had quarantine her at home.. keeping our main door closed when Janelle is in the living room as there are kids next doors. :( and there goes my weekend.

*Praying for Janelle recovery.*

Yahava KoffeeWorks

This morning, hus brought me to Yahava KoffeeWorks along Thomson Road for coffee, and I worked from there with a cup of mokha for the whole of morning. The coffee is awesome, the place has a smoothing ambience, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and you know how serious they are in coffee when you see the huge coffee roaster in the cafe. Personally, I feel that their coffee is better than Starbucks.

I've a found a place where I can hang around when I need a cup of good coffee to kick start my day. *Thumb up*

Drinking from straw

Finally my girl did it....

About a month ago, I saw Joyce's one years old twin are already drinking from straw while I'm still struggling to get 3.5 yrs old janelle to do it. So asked Joyce for some tips and her reply was very simple "huh, dont know leh, just pass them the bottle and automatically they will drink from it". So what I had done was just pass her the different type of bottles and let her trial and error.. and due to her weak jaws, her suck is never strong enough to bring the drink up into her mouth. Even if she is very thirsty, if she don't do it I'm not going to help. finally, she did it on her honey bear yesterday.

After dinner, I passed her honey bear with full load of water and I turned away to clear her plate. Next moment I heard "chu chu" sound and she is drinking from the bottle.

Its never too late as long as she can do it... she made my day by showing me one more improvement. Now keeping my fingers and toes crossed that she can maintain. One of my biggest challenge with janelle is that today she know but after a seizure attack she might not be able to do it again. Consistence!!!

Greenhouse @ Ritz Carlton

Well illuminated by its high ceiling, Greenhouse at Ritz Carlton is one of the more mentioned buffet in Singapore. So i suggested to have our 2012 BFFs Valentine's Lunch at Greenhouse – Asian Seafood Buffet.

For a seafood buffet, I thought the seafood spread was rather limited. I didn’t spot any lobster, crayfish or oysters at all whereas there were quite a number of meat dishes - roasted duck, pork, beef and chicken. Guess the only seafood that pleased me was the Prawns, Sweet! Pretty fresh and firm. And maybe the snow crab where we can only find 2 small little legs.. one for A and one for me. It could be J and her Bf took all of the legs already. :P

But the biggest disappointment of all was the service. Our glasses were rarely filled even though there were so many waitstaff walking about. We had requested 3 times and the final time was A walked to the waitress make a small little complaints and request for refilled.

Upon making the reservation, i checked with the staff and was told that UOB ladies card there is a promotion of 20% off the bill, but during the payment the waiter says there must be a communication problem as 15% is the highest promotion they are giving out.

For a world-class hotel such service standards is certainly unacceptable. Needless to say, we won't be back, not for the lunch buffet at least.

Lucky I have great accompanies that made the lunch great. Looking forward for more session with BFFs. Love you guys to the max...

Happy Valentine's Day

My colleague msn me this morning asking me "is it stupid to buy flowers on a Valentine's Day?? the flora had marked the price up like crazy". My reply to him is very simple, Nothing beats flowers especially on Valentine's Day.. Girls will usually tells the boyfriend/husband, didnt spend that kind of money.. however, whenever they received it, they has a smile on their face and they will remembered it.. at the very least, she wouldnt complaint that you never send her flowers.. isnt it? But please, one stalk or one banquet is good, not one bunch... or even a sms with "@->-" is also sweet.

This year, as usually, hus is out of town. He is very smart, he save his money on those exp valentine's meal... and brought me to jap's resturant had a lunch set in town as v.day meals a week ago. But that's good enough, at the very least he remembered v.day and broughtme out for good meal without me requesting it :)

mei see me spending the day with janelle at home eating tingkat, asked me to join them for v.day dinner at uncle leong... errr, to be lightbulbssss there... S replied "Please la, how romantic it can be with the crabs?" lol but thanks i preferred to be home spending it with Janelle..

To all of you who are celebrating Valentine's Day,

have a great one!! ;)

Girls Toy

Yesterday evening, when we were shopping at Toy R Us, the first OS came to me when I saw this doll "Hey, she looks like my janelle, the bang, the big eyes and the rosy cheeks... Every girls should has a baby doll, it's time to buy a doll for janelle".

Janelle and her new toys:

2012 Planner

In Decemeber 2011, i placed my order of a moleskine 2012 monthly planner from http://www.moleskineasia.com/. They had missed out the unit number and the delivery wasnt sucessful. It was returned to the supplier by singpost and still on the way of returning. Supplier told me that they have yet to receive the return mail after a month.

This marked my first failure of internet purchase. Went tampinese mall yesterday night and cant find a decent 2012 monthly planner off the rack that's i think ok. I checked moleskine asia site and US size, the size i wanted is already out of stock. Where else can i get a decent (as in not those cantoon that suit the teens) and lightweight planner with monthly view, smaller than A5, with lots of notebook space to take down notes?

For the time being, table calender had becomes my planner for 2012...

My daddy wants a dragon grandson

My daddy had never interfere our family planning, never I have heard him saying anything on any of the sibling. When to get marry, when to have a child... Maybe cos we had been clicking our milestone on time. Today is my first time, hearing from my daddy... one hour of lecture, nagging at us for #2.

He even guarantee us a place in branded primary school in north area. However, he didn't guarantee us for secondary school, JC, uni and a healthy baby.

I received many questions over the CNY. Franky speaking, we are ready for #2 but we don't have the courage and luck. I don't wish to withdraw any love and attention from janelle.. she needs me.

Staying in this way, not putting in too much hope.. We will also get lesser disappointment. Isn't that good?

Last event Of 2012 CNY

Before the CNY ended, J and me popped over to A place bringing laughter to her family and troubled her mom to cook a home cook dinner. :) ops.. Mummy A really make good soup, the ingredients she used is 不客气 one, and she boiled since 3pm.

At about 6pm, we even had a 4 years old food taster reported out "姑姑, the soup is very good!!!"

Mummy A even pack for me to bring home for hus and janelle. 又吃又带 so embarrassing. :) 3 girls together really can form a market.. After dinner, mummy a throw us into the room, maybe she wants to watch TV :p.. And we had all our talks, complaints and laughter till past midnight. Didn't know that we have so much to share. I'm updated.. Haaa.. Really had a great time. Thanks A & J.

A visit to dermatologist

Every stage of a life would need a different remedies for the skin condition. After recent change in the skin care products, breakout starts knocking on my face... Just before chinese new year, there is a huge cystic acne adeep in my skin which dont know combined with how many cysts, the worst case was it happened on the same spot as couple month ago. So decided to see a dermatologist to get this problem solved before it get worst. Dont know how many people see me over the chinese new year adviced me to see a skin doctor.. This showed how bad it was.

Did a research online and shortlisted Dr Ong from Maple Clinic at Tampines and Dr SNWong from Mt E. Called Dr Ong Clinic on last saturday at 8.45am to enquiry, before i asked any question, the nurse/clinic asst says "no more queue number for today, if you want to see the dr, you need to come down and Q tmr early morning".. and can you believe it the clinic only open at 9am. And read from the forumn, ladies went down to Q since 5.30am. oh mine... not my cup of tea.. So dropped Dr Ong and made my appointment with Dr SN Wong, which her next avaliable slot is only one week later.

Dr SN Wong, very nice lady who even walked me into her consulatant room from the counter. Very patience and listen to my concern and slowly explain to me why and how to prevent. hmmm, but nothing indeep from her.. no cure to it, just ask me to be patience as it take months to recover on the scar... meanwhile, but i cant stop observe her skin during her consultation... she dont has a clear complexsion.. so i started have my reserve. and didnt ask anymore questions. My damage for the first visit - Consulation :$120, Cleanser $30, Moistsuriser $33, Differin $29.50 (for pimple) and Vitamin C Serum $89.

Hope it works for me and make my money well spent.
