1st lesson @ mygym
26th September, 2009 Saturday
Today brought Janelle to tampines mygym for her class. This is first time Janelle attending class. She refused to take her morning nap. Was very worried that she will be cranky in her class. But when she reached mygym she was so excitied. Indeed, she had enjoyed her class.
She is attending the waddlers class which is for 8 mths to 18 mths. In the class, Janelle got 6 friends who are abt 12 to 14 mths but they started to walk except for Janelle. I took a deep breath n enjoy the class with Janelle, not looking at other kids.
When looking at those kids during free play, am really asking myself why me? Why Janelle? Whhhyy..

Mygym

Today I brought Janelle to mygym open house at tampines. To my surprise, she enjoyed it. When the instructor turn her upside down, she can even laughed. So on the spot, I signed up 8 weeks program $300.

Cant sleep
18th September 2009, friday..
cant sleep, and decided to come online and blog.. meanwhile to clear the mails and letters which had been on my table for ages.
While doing my filing, Janelle's bill are the most. haiz... all the doctors follow up visit, medical bills, etc... I dont have the courage to caculate the total amount. Dont want to see that, so throw all the bills into a file and put it right at the bottom of the drawers. Maybe when janelle recovered and starts to earn big money, i can pull out these bills and claims for her.. haaa.. that would be a strike of toto manz..
my table done, mails done, banking done, filing done.. and time to sleep... good night.

Calling "奶奶"
My mil had been telling me that my girl had started to call her "奶奶". But everytime i heard it is just "呵". Not sure if is me who are not sensitive to catch her "奶奶" or is my mil 一廂情願。I told my mil that i didnt heard it clearly.. she says i jealous. hmmm, true i will be very jealous if jx called "奶奶" first but will be more happy to know that she can talks.
Janelle likes to play with her tongue by "boo" with all her 口水. My mil says she picked up from her, as she told her that motor cycle bobobo... pianz, i think is more she pick up from my maid and myself as we had been playing pee-ke-BOO with her for so long.

Janelle 13months and 2 days

From this week onwards, it will be mad rush at work. Preparing for FY10.
The whole week had been spending most of the time at work, not much time to spend with Janelle. But every night, i will make sure i'm the one who give her the night feed, talk to her, sing song to her and settle her down to bed. And will wait till she fallen into deep sleep before i back to my computer. heee, at times we fall asleep together.
Today, i took some photos of her. Love her smiles...

Reject Milk
17th September, 2009 Thursday
Starting from this week onwards, Janelle suddenly rejected her milk. And this morning, worst she drank only 10ml and push the bottle away. Not sure if it is because i tried to introduce her enfagrow (3rd stage), and she dont like it. Then also introduce other brand of milk powder from sample packaging (mamil gold). and after read from forum that can remain at stage 2 till 18 months, so return to enfapro (2nd stage), who knows she rejected the milk.
I paniced and think maybe i can give her try to change other brand of milk powder and see if she can intake more. Rushed down to the nearest supermark at 830am to get milk powder. When i walked passed our GP, thought can give it a try if they have other sample of milk powder that i get from them for janelle to trial and error... it is not cheap to spent on milk powder, if i spent $30+ and janelle dont like, that goes to the waste. now every cents count.. so 厚者臉皮 and checked with the nurses. :) they took 2 tins of different brand sample (similac and Nan) for me..
Came home and gave her similac. Her intakes did improved, at least is better than 10ml.
1st day, she takes abt 60ml x 3.. and night feed was abt 210ml
2nd day, she takes abt 90ml x 3 and night feed was abt 180ml
which i think she accepted similac.. poor mummy, just stocked up enfapro because of sales.
But, one think mummy is glad that at least she knows what is nice and what is not nice. :)

CordLife
A year ago, I have referred my colleague (Nur) to sign up with cordlife for her baby boy.
During this year janelle annual renewal with cordlife, then i realised that the cordlife didnt record me as a referrer. I gave them my colleague full name to check, and today i received an appreciation of $50.
This $50 does comes in handy, it is worth one follow up checks up for Janelle.

Our Flat is coming soon

waited for about 3 and half years, last week we received a letter from HDB, we going to collect our keys very soon. Should be in a month time. Now we are in the process of getting house loan.
Yesterday, we went to our punggol site and have a look at the environment. There are lots of construction all over punggol area. the air pollution is bad. There is no nearby clinic, if anything happened to Janelle, i might be lost. Have a long chat with kogan, we decided not to move in. We will apply from HDB to rent out our place based on Janelle conditions. hopefully we can get the approval from HDB.

maid

very angry... tmd...
hus brought us down to salon for haircut for jx, maid and himself.
when i asked the maid to cut her hair, she says no no no and run away...
when reached home, i kanna scolded by my mil for not cutting her hair.. tmd... i damn angry lo, so angry and i just reply her "enough le bah" and walked straight into my room without a second words.
the next day, i bring janelle back to my mama place and work.. i refused to see her.

Tips on High Chair
Occupational Therapist reckon that ikea high chair is not suitable for babies like Janelle. She would need high chair with more support, and because she is tall hence she will tends to bend forward alot.
There are mainly 2 types: highchair or seat booster.
Points to look out for when chosing the chair
have a contour high seat back support
foot rest
lap table support
should not be too big or too small for Janelle. Can use pillow/roll-up
towel to give child lateral support if necessary
must bring her along to sit and try the chair

8 sep 2009, Tuesday, went to ttsh again. Thanks daddy rushing back from korea to accompany us to this appointment. Mummy really can't take it anymore, Thinking to give the doctor 2nd chance, but regreted shortly in her office. Haiz. We ask her how her EEG report, she said, no point looking at EEG, she had seizure so EEG will be admormal. Ask her abt MRI, she says everything is ok. Then she told me that she don't see any concern on jx having fits cos it just all short n mild one. And the reason of she having fits more often now is becos the effects of drug withdrawal. She didn't see any needs in controlling her fits for these 3 months as it will be due to drug withdrawal. And her goal is to dropped nitrazepem completely as it is a drug which will be additted. And before we step out of her office, she already leave her office. So rude.
9 sep 2009, Wednesday we went to kkh. For physio n follow up consultation. She had improvement in her physical developement. Now she started to reach out for things doubt is not to fine details yet. But at least she saw toys, she will try to touch or I would says hit it. During the physio, mummy is talking to the therapist while daddy is exercising with Janelle. Jx stand up on her own. Woo, this is the first time. So happy n proud of her. Hee. While talking to therapist, we think that jx need more intraction with kids. She will learn faster. And therapist offered us to drop by her place and play with her girl who is a month younger than jx. And mummies think it is good to join some enrichment classes to get her motivied. So when mummies log on to aug babies forum n saw a mummy gathering babies for trial classes, without second though, I put in my names for Janelle. Give it a try who knows maybe Janelle will be motivied and will picked out what is missed.
During the doctor follow up, kkh doctor goals are to control Janelle fits. As child learning windows are short, if fits does not control well, her development will be affected. And will affects her mobility in her later part of life. We trying on another drug now, sodium valproate. We raised the concern of nitrazepam to kkh doctor, and her intension is to use sv to replace nitrazepam n also to control her fits too. I really hope this will works on jx.

Weekend ended
3 sept 2009, Friday, I brought janelle to my mummy place early in the morning as I need to go into office for full day meeting. Was still afraid jx can't cope. :) I think my mom is a better caretaker compared to my mil.
4 sept 2009, Saturday, 回娘家day. :) brought the 3Js to Amk hub n left my J at my mama place with maid. Think that the worst thing i ever did. The 3 js are out of control. Haiz, I was there screaming n shouting at them. Haiz. No more 3js to supermarket. Before we walked to the car park, Joelle insist to take the car ride. Nowsday car ride is so exp, no longer 20cents, it's a dollar now. Wah!
5 sept 2009, Sunday, as hus not in town, and my sis and maid keep asking me to return home. Again I bring jx back to 娘家 :) she loves to be at ahgong place. These 3 days, jx is very happy. Today the 2 maids dressed up Joelle n Janelle in sister dress.
Love her smile, there was once a mummy told me that every smile on ur child face is a bonus.

Drug allergy
Today brought Janelle to kkh. Dr confirmed that Janelle is having allergy. And 2 possible allergy, one is on the drug or the colouring added to the drug.
But whichever allergy she is having, she can't take levetitacetam.
We have to wait for her rashes recovered before introduce other drugs to her. Next appt is next week.

New drugs
31st Aug 2009, we went KKH for follow up appointment and agreed with Dr to try on new drug - Levetiracetam (KEPPRA), she mentioned that this drug will be the next "best" to try drug as it has lesser side effects but more expensive. We give it a try, the price is 10x more than her current drug, one bottle which should be able to last her for 1 month costed about $165.
Doctor from TTSH called me up and requested to see Janelle's MRI film sheet and EEG results. haiz, kind of redundant to return to her, but she is the best in this field. thinking to give her 2nd chance to listen to what she has and can be diagnosed. next appt with her is on the 8 Sept. wish me luck.

See, this is first time Janelle wearing shoes... this shoe is kind of big and boyish cos it is choose by my MIL... my mummies also brough a pair of shoe for Janelle, very cute.. now Janelle got 4 pairs of shoes waiting for her.. each are one size bigger.. haaa..
